The Consequences Of Having High Cholesterol Levels In Our Body
Cholesterol is a wax-like, fatty substance found in all cells in our body. This type of cholesterol is required for the body to function well. And our body produces all the cholesterol it requires. Cholesterol is a fatty substance whereas our blood is watery, hence both do not blend. High cholesterol levels in your blood can be damaging. Individuals with high blood cholesterol levels have a bigger risk of having cardiovascular disease. Symptoms are not notable for those with high amounts of cholesterol making lots of people unconscious. Cholesterols could build-up the artery walls creating the plaque. After a while, these plaques can narrow and harden the arteries. This is known as atherosclerosis. Coronary arteries are a special kind of arteries that get blood to the heart. Plaque in the coronary arteries can stop or decelerate the movement of the blood to your heart hence reducing the volume of oxygen rich blood, this is known as coronary heart disease. This particular disease could bring about chest pains and further heart attack.
