Walking To Lose Weight
This is prime diet season and millions of people are trying to take off the extra pounds they gained over the holidays. It’s always been a real chore for me to lose weight, so I wanted to take a totally different approach this time–and hopefully I won’t have to do it again.
As my doctor has told me many times, weight loss really should be the result of a lifestyle change, which if done smartly, can really be pretty painless. Change your diet to eat healthy foods and get regular aerobic exercise. It’s as simple as that. I hate to give up my comfort foods like french fries and potato chips, but all I really have to do is find a substitute or just cut back.
The exercise has always been a problem for me. Most trips to the gym are pure drudgery for me. But my doctor gave me a great tip–try walking to lose weight. Walking can actually be better than tennis or baseball or football. Why? Because walking is continous, not stop and go, exercise. And continuous aerobic exercise is key.
That sounds pretty easy–I can walk. And walking to lose weight sounds like just what I’ve been looking for.
