Although sodium phosphate supplement can also be used to treat constipation and help relieve impacted bowels but it should be taken exactly as directed by the doctor. It is life threatening to use it if you have just used it for the past 7 days or if you are suffering from kidney problems, dehydration, or an electrolyte imbalance. It should not be taken more than, more often and for a longer period than what is prescribed. It can cause side effects such as nausea, stomach pain and bloating. It can sometimes cause serious side effects such as irregular heartbeat, fainting, seizure, itching, hives, rash, swelling, throat tightness and difficulty breathing and swallowing. If you experience any of the above mentioned symptoms, you can call the doctor immediately for necessary and appropriate treatment.
